Primarily a renowned research library, this turn-of-the-century building is also available for private events. Ruggles Hall, restored to its 1893 grandeur, features crystal chandeliers, stunning parquet floors and lovely park views. The lobby is an ideal spot for a ceremony or cocktail hour. If you prefer an outdoor ceremony, Washington Park is directly across from Newberry Library.

Built in 1893, the Newberry Library is a historic venue in the heart of Chicago. A recent renovation restored our building’s original architectural details while adding new versatile event spaces. The Newberry is now a gathering place for a variety of occasions.
