Savory & Sweet Waffle Recipes
Try out these delectable waffle recipes yourself this holiday season, and you can always order more from us off of our winter holiday menu.
Spinach Vegan Waffle (Yield 32 2oz waffles)
– 17 tbsp … Room temperature vegan butter
– 2 tsp … Granulated sugar
– ½ tbsp … Kosher salt
– ¼ tsp … Ground black pepper
– 1/3 cup … Chickpea flour
– 4 cups … All-purpose flour
– 2 tsp … Baking soda
– 1 cup … Water
– 6 cups … Spinach fresh greens
– 3 spears … Asparagus, Trimmed
– 6 cloves … Peeled garlic, Chopped
– 2 cups … Soy milk
– 64 each … Grape tomato (Garnish)
– 13 spears … Asparagus, Trimmed (Garnish)
Vegan Garlic Cream (Garnish)
o 1 cup … Vegan Cream (Coconut, Cassava Root) (Brand name: Cocojune – Pure coconut organic plant-based probiotic)
o 1 cup … Spinach fresh greens, Chopped
o ¼ cup … Basil
o ¼ tsp … Salt, Pepper, Garlic spice mix
o ¼ tsp … Peeled Garlic, Finely Minced
Waffle Instructions:
- Melt vegan butter. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients together.
- Chop the spinach, first quantity of asparagus and garlic. Put in a blender with the water and puree.
- To combine, add the puree to half of the dry mix. Next, add the soy milk and then the melted butter.
- Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Each waffle is ¼ cup per piece. Heat waffle iron and cook for 2 minutes per side.
- Julienne the remaining asparagus and cut grape tomatoes in half for garnish.
- Garnish each waffle with 2 tbsp each of asparagus and tomato. Garnish with a dallop of vegan garlic cream.
Vegan Garlic Cream Instructions:
- To the vegan cream, add the chopped spinach, chopped basil, spice mix and garlic. Stir to combine.
Cinnamon Chocolate Waffle (Yield 32 2oz waffles)
– 1 cup … All-purpose flour
– ½ cup … Cocoa powder
– 2/3 cup … Granulated Sugar
– 2 tsp … Baking Powder
– ¾ cup … Sour cream
– 3 each … Fresh whole egg, Separated
– 8 tbsp … Unsalted butter, Melted
– ¼ cup … Abuelita Chocolate, Chopped
– 1 cup … Whole Milk
– ¾ tsp … Ground Cinnamon
– 1 ¼ cup … Whipped Cream (Garnish)
– ¼ cup … Confectioner Sugar (Garnish)
– ¼ cup … Mint (Garnish)
Apple Cherry Sauce (Garnish)
o 1 ½ … Green Apples
o ½ cup … Cherry juice
o 1 cup … Water
o 2 drops … Red food coloring
o ½ cup … Granulated sugar
o ¼ tsp … Ground cinnamon
o ¼ cup … Lime juice
o 2 tbsp … Cornstarch
o 1/3 cup … Water (for Cornstarch mixture)
Waffle Instructions:
- In one bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar and baking powder.
- Separate the eggs (making sure not to get yolk in the whites).
- Melt butter and chocolate together.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sour cream, egg yolks, and butter/chocolate together.
- In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites to a stiff peak but not dry.
- Combine the wet and dry mixes until just combined.
- Add in the milk. Fold in the egg whites. (Do not overmix).
- In a ¼ cup waffle maker, cook the waffles 2 minutes per side.
- Serve warm.
- Garnish each waffle with 1 tbsp sauce, a dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of powdered sugar, and a mint leaf.
Apple Cherry Sauce Instructions:
- Scoop apples into ¼” balls (Should get 12 out of 1 apple).
- In a small pot, combine the cherry juice, first amount of water (1 cup), sugar, cinnamon & red food coloring. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the apple balls and cook until the apple balls are tender.
- Combine the cornstarch and the second amount of water (1/3 cup) to make a slurry.
- Slowly whisk in the slurry to the sauce. Cook until just thickened.
- Cool slightly. Serve warm.
